Welcome! The Olney Art Association (OAA) located in Olney, Maryland, USA, and founded in 1974, is a professional, learning, creative community of visual fine artists whose expertise ranges in a variety of media, such as oil painting, watercolor, acrylics, pastel, colored pencil, pen and ink, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, ceramics, digital art and photography.
Our meetings are held bi-monthly at the Olney Community Room in the Buffington/ Remax Building, 3300 Olney Sandy Spring Road in Olney. This is located between Ricuitti’s Restaurant and the Bank of America. The Community Room is on the side which faces the bank.
The member's meeting for January was quite enjoyable. Our presenter, Jorge Luis Bernal,spoke on "The Creation of a Visual Awareness", as well as tickling our curiosity regarding his technique in encaustics. Mr. Bernal has offered to return with a demonstration of his technique later in the year.
Please remember that dues are to be paid this month by January 31st --$25.00. Those who were unable to come to the meeting can mail their check to our treasurer, Selma Robey.
Our members are busy creating beautiful pieces for you to enjoy at the Sandy Spring Museum Show coming this Spring. Check back for further information in the coming weeks.
